Recently I had the opportunity to help out on a project by the amazing singer Tammy Scheffer. Tammy had a need to assemble a small collection of audio tracks from a recent performance to release excerpts of the concert to the usual places on the web.
It was relatively straightforward as far as sound goes, but it was great to rediscover how to make the most of compression, limiting, reverb, and a couple of different classes of equalizer available in Logic Pro X, to squash a lot of unwanted noise and highlight the wonderful brilliance of Tammy’s voice.
The opening track from this performance was released to YouTube today, and there will be several more to come. Tammy’s music spans the space between the provocative and the absurd; she brings a wonderful sense of fun to her exploration of deeper emotional spaces. This concert features her work in solo looping, at the 2019 NJ Proghouse Series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
